The Problem
The Yoruba Proverb API made proverbs accessible to developers, but raw JSON isn't exactly a great reading experience for everyone else.
The Idea
A clean web interface on top of the API — discover random proverbs, read their translations and the wisdom behind them, save favorites, and share them as images.
Building It
Next.js with React and TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS. The app consumes the Yoruba Proverb API, keeps a local collection of favorites, and generates shareable proverb images for social media.
The Stack
Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vercel.
What's Next
User accounts for syncing collections across devices, and audio pronunciations for each proverb.
