The Problem

Every semester, students graduate or relocate with perfectly good items they cannot take along. Meanwhile, new students are buying the same things at full price. The campus marketplace was scattered across WhatsApp groups and bulletin boards.

The Idea

What if there was a dedicated, safe platform just for students to sell their stuff before leaving? Offloadr was born from watching friends stress about selling microwaves, textbooks, and mini-fridges.

Building It

The backend is built with Go and the Gin framework for performance. PostgreSQL handles the data, and Cloudinary manages image uploads with automatic compression. I focused on simplicity: no endless categories, just post a photo, set a price, and chat.

The Stack

Go (Gin), React, PostgreSQL, Cloudinary.

What's Next

Push notifications for new listings near you, and maybe a delivery integration so buyers do not even have to meet up.
